Tracking Your Joey's Weight
Use the attached PDF: "Joey Weight Tracking Chart"
to track your joey's weight each day. It is very important to try to weigh the joey at approximately the same time each day. Daily tracking of your joey's weight, along with the change in weight, allows you to quickly ensure that the joey is gaining weight each day. Any loss in weight for two or more consecutive days could indicate that the mother is not producing enough milk for the joey or that she is rejecting the joey. For further information about joey rejection, please refer to: Symptoms of Rejection.
Once your joey has been fully weaned from its mother (at approximately 9 - 10 weeks out of pouch), you can submit your data to the Joey Development Study to assist in ongoing research about typical joey development.
